Social Science
English II

In spite of being a low-key personality, Mr. Street's calling was drama. He encouraged the most timid students to participate in skits. At least one of these skits was performed in front of a large portion of the student body. It was an invitation to public humiliation for most, but he loved it. In an attempt to expose his students to real stage drama, an evening outing was organized to see a presentation of the "The Winslow Boy" in Sacramento. This was the Big Time!

He also led the Radio Club, which presented a monthly one hour program on a Sunday on Oroville's only radio station, KMOR (originally KDAN, started by the town's newspaper publisher, Dan Beebe).

One day Mr. Street invited some visitors from Taiwan to talk about their language and culture. It must have been an unnerving challenge for the visitors with their limited English. It was a cultural eye-opener for the his students.
